Hi guys,
Went up to Cardwell Friday looking for big barra but that didnt work out due to unexpected weather.
Pulled the boat out at midday and went to the pub for a quick lunch and a beer. Got talking to a local and he told us about a small creek just north a Cardwell.
So we went straight there and started throwing lures. Caught plenty of small fish, barra, mangrove jacks, cod, trevally and tarpon.
Once again Delalande out fished everything my mate put on his rod by 5 to 1 I would say.
Highlight of the day was a 60cm something barra tail walking out of a small gutter into the side of my boat after it swallowed a chartreuse DJ Line.
The fish got off after hitting the boat. I was using an old 5inch zerek live shrimp weedless hook, it fitted perfectly on both size lures.
Awesome action on the drop, plenty of hits.
