đŁ Pike Season Opening: My Selection of 3 Favorite Lures
The season opening is approaching, and lure choice is crucial for successful first outings. While the famous Sandra remains an unbeatable classic that everyone owns, I have decided to highlight three references that truly make a difference in the field.
1. The Zand Fat Shad: Absolute Versatility

- Classic: On a jig head to prospect drop-offs.
- Heavy Cover: Texas-rigged to glide through weed beds.
- Shallow: In shallow water with a shallow screw and a stinger rig positioned above or below.
2. The Neo Shallow: The Specialist for Difficult Environments

The Neo Shallow is an ultra-versatile lure, particularly effective when pike are stationed in heavy cover. Its singular shape produces a unique swimming action that often triggers aggression from wary fish. Very easy to cast and animate, it is one of my essentials for every session.
3. The Zand Curly: The Hypnotic Effect

In third place, the Zand Curly rounds out the list. Its swimming action is simply mesmerizing: you have to see its tail action to understand its effectiveness. Just like the Fat Shad, it accepts multiple rigging options, allowing for instant adaptation to the conditions encountered.
đž The 2026 Bonus: The Froggy
To this already solid arsenal, I am adding a new release this year: the Froggy. For topwater fishing in the heart of thick vegetation, it is a revolution. Once you’ve seen it move in the water, you immediately understand why it will become a standard for summer fishing.
