Fire Eel: a saltwater soft lure with a surprising action
Halfway between a slug and a shad, the Fire Eel offers a particularly original swimming action. To develop this saltwater soft lure, we worked closely with our team of sea anglers on three essential elements: the material, the shape and the hydrodynamics.
This combination gives the Fire Eel an action that differs from traditional soft lures. Its long and slender body starts moving with the first movements of the rod. As a result, the lure remains lively even with a controlled retrieve.
An imitation of sand eel and garfish
The Fire Eel’s design was specifically developed to resemble the prey targeted by marine predators. Its silhouette is particularly similar to a sand eel and a garfish, two common prey fish for predators in the sea.
The body features numerous ridges. They enhance its visual appearance and create an impression of movement as the lure moves through the water. In addition, these ridges can retain attractant, adding an extra scent signal to the presentation.
A lively action along the entire body
The Fire Eel’s action mainly comes from its shape. Its oval and very slender body starts to oscillate along its entire length during the retrieve.
In addition, the Fire Eel features two large fins: a dorsal fin and an anal fin. Their interaction with the water enhances the lure’s movement. The result is a lively, flickering action that resembles the swimming motion of a sand eel or garfish fleeing from a predator.
A saltwater soft lure designed for marine predators
Thanks to the combination of its silhouette, material and hydrodynamics, the Fire Eel offers a natural and dynamic presentation. Its slender profile accurately imitates many types of marine prey. Its lively action then provides an additional visual signal.
The Fire Eel is therefore a saltwater soft lure designed for anglers looking for a realistic sand eel or garfish imitation with an original and highly mobile action.
